Proposed Development

Replacement of existing flat roof with sloping roof to single storey rear extension; increase in height of rear wall; change of use of the ground floor rear storeroom to form a 1 x 1 bed flat, and conversion of upper floors to provide a 1 x 2 bed flat; new roof lights and replace all windows with new windows.


4D Planning's Role

4D Planning assessed the feasibility of converting the storeroom at the back of the commercial unit to residential. We also looked at the possibility to achieve additional flats by converting the upper floors. The outcome of our research was positive. We were subsequently commissioned to prepare the planning application and produce the architectural drawings to scale. We designed the flats to meet the London Plan and the national space standards and included the replacement of all the windows. We liaised with the planning officers from Hackney Council and addressed all of their queries. The planning application was approved.
