Retention of ancillary outbuilding in rear garden
The client approached us after receiving a letter from Havering Council following a complaint from one of the neighbours. The outbuilding was built in good faith by the client, but the height exceeded the permitted height of 2.5m under the Permitted Development Guidelines. 4D Planning were instructed to prepare a planning application and to argue why the outbuilding should be retained and no further works to be carried out to alter the height. We argued that the current height is not significantly higher than neighbouring outhouses and there would be no loss of light or overlooking. Planning permission was granted.
