4D Planning advised the client on the best way to obtain planning permission for an extension to the first floor flat. We advised that there were no permitted development rights for flats, therefore even if there was precedent along the road, the council would not allow a large L shape rear dormer. We were instructed to produce the application for planning permission and we designed the loft and rear dormer with rooflights to meet the clients requirements but also the planning guidance. Merton Council granted planning permission within 8 weeks from submission.
