4D Planning's role

4D Planning were instructed to visit the property and to offer a feasibility consultation. We then prepared a feasibility report outlining the site constraints, opportunities to extend etc. Following a positive assessment, we were instructed by the client to prepare the architectural drawings, including the floor plans, sections and elevations, for a single storey side and rear extension to the large single-family dwelling. We also considered erecting many rooflights and skylights to maximise light. Following intensive negotiations, we omitted the rooflights from the proposed scheme, as they would anyway be permitted development (not requiring planning permission). We argued that the height of the extension would not impact on the neighbours amenity despite the neighbour objecting. The application was GRANTED planning permission by Camden Council.
