Construction of a single storey basement and associated alterations to rear elevation
4D Planning were instructed by an architecture firm to advise on the feasibility of extending below lower ground floor level (subterranean). We checked the drawings and suggested changes. We then produced a detailed Design and Access Statement to support the application and submitted the application to the council. We negotiated with the council on the proposals, mainly because the timing of the application conflicted with a merging policy which was not yet adopted to restrict the size of basement developments. We were forced to wait several months until the decision was made, but the application was eventually approved.
