4D Planning's role

4D Planning were instructed to maximise the habitable space of the semi detached property. The property was already extended at ground floor level and to the side. We applied for planning permission to extend the roof space over a side extension at first floor level and a rear extension at first floor level. The planning officer challenged our proposal for a wider dormer and insisted that it has to follow the guidance strictly which was for a 50% width of the original roof. Our client was not content with the smaller dormer, so we negotiated with the council and ended up getting a Councillor to "call-in" the application. The application was decided in a planning committee by the local Councillors. Our client read a 3 minute speech that we drafted for him. The application was granted planning permission by Barnet Council Planning Committee.
