Conversion to flats, rear dormer roof extension, Appeal
Conversion of existing flat to studio and 1 bedroom flat and erection of rear dormer.
4D Planning assisted the client with advising on the feasibility to convert the flat above the shop into two self-contained units with a rear dormer roof extension. We advised that the development would be feasible. We were then instructed to prepare a pre-application advice submission to Enfield Council. The advice was negative, but we took into account the comments and suggestions and prepared a full planning application. We obtained specialist reports to support the application and liaised with the planning officers. The application was refused after weeks of delays. The Council did not act reasonably, and we therefore consulted internally and reached a conclusion that we had a good chance to successfully appeal the decision. Our client instructed us to prepare the appeal. The appeal was successful and planning permission was GRANTED for the proposed conversion to two flats and rear dormer roof extension. We submitted a claim for costs against Enfield Council. This too was awarded to us on behalf of our happy client.
