4D Planning's role

4D Planning was proud to assist the franchisee of Mathnasium UK in obtaining planning permission for the use of the premises as a Mathnasium, a specialist math tuition centre.

Our role began with producing detailed architectural drawings highlighting the layout of the business, size and appearance of the shop front and signage and position of the AC unit. We also prepared a comprehensive planning statement addressing key planning policies, site constraints, planning history, and relevant planning material considerations. This strong foundation helped present the case effectively to Richmond Council planning officers.

Given that many planning officers were unfamiliar with the Mathnasium concept, we proactively engaged with Richmond Council to ensure the proposal was well understood. Through clear communication, we explained how the Mathnasium model offers significant benefits to the local high street and wider community. The centre not only provides high-quality after-school math tuition but also generates local employment opportunities for tutors and creates footfall for nearby businesses as parents visit the area while their children attend sessions.

Our collaborative approach with the council ensured the application was managed correctly and received positive consideration. We were delighted when Richmond Council granted planning permission for the proposed F1(a) use on this site.
