Roof extensions and roof terrace to top floor flat
4D Planning advised the client on the feasibility of the proposed extensions. We established that even though the neighbour's roof terrace was not approved by Camden Council, we believed that it would set a precedent and planning permission could be achieved. Furthermore, a roof extension would be suitable for this property and would not harm the adjacent conservation area character or the amenity of neighbours. 4D Planning were instructed to prepare the architectural drawings and application documents. We submitted the application and liaised with Camden Council. The case officer ignored our calls and emails and refused to decide the application within the statutory 8 week assessment period. We allowed the Council to extend the deadline more than once and negotiated hard on behalf of our client. After several weeks of waiting, we advised our client to appeal to the Planning Inspectorate on the basis of a non-determination of the planning application. We prepared the appeal statement, submitted the appeal and the appeal was allowed and the original application was granted planning permission.
